Applications and Grants Process
Be sure to consult our Focus Areas and Grant Guidelines for important information regarding eligibility, restrictions and types of support.
JWF has a four-step application process:
Step One: Submit Letter of Intent
Step Two: Status notification by JWF
Step Three: Submit full proposal (only if invited to do so by JWF)
Step Four: Final notification of grants awarded
Step One: Submit Letter of Intent
JWF requests an initial Letter of Intent from organizations who seek to improve the status of Jewish women and girls. Letters of Intent are due in the JWF office by 5 p.m. Central Standard Time on Monday, June 2, 2008.
Late Letters of Intent will not be accepted. We also cannot accept faxed or emailed applications.
Completion of the Letter of Intent form is required. You may reproduce it on your computer, but please use no more than three pages to answer the questions. Organizations must be classified as 501(c)3 tax-exempt organizations by the Internal Revenue Service (or have a fiscal agent so classified).
Step Two: Status Notification by JWF
JWF evaluates and notifies each applicant by Friday, June 27, 2008 as to whether or not they are invited to submit a full proposal.
Step Three: Submit a Full Proposal
The deadline for submitting full proposals is Friday, July 25, 2008 by 4 p.m. Central Daylight Time. Please do not submit a full proposal unless specifically requested to do so by JWF.
The Jewish Women's Foundation has two grant applications: New Grant Application and Renewal Grant Application. All proposals submitted must use one of these forms. We accept only fully completed proposals. No late proposals will be accepted. We also cannot accept faxed or e-mailed applications.
- New Grant Application: To be used by new applicants, current grantees with new programs, or former grantees with a new program/project.*
- Renewal Grant Application: To be used by JWF grantees with a renewal program/project (organizations seeking support for the same program/project approved by JWF in a previous grant cycle.)*
*Your application must include the Project Budget Form.
Please check back at the end of April for the latest New Grant Application, Renewal Grant Application, and Program Budget Forms.
Step Four: Final Notification of Grants Awarded
The JWF will make its final grant determinations by the end of November and grant recipients will receive notification of grant awards by mid-December. Funds for grants will be disbursed in January of the following year.
