The ARK

Today, nearly 4,000 people are dependent on the ARK for survival. The services offered to those in need include medical, dental and eye care; legal and social welfare services; and clothing, food and shelter. All ARK services are free of charge and are offered with dignity.

Campus Kitchen at Northwestern University

The Campus Kitchen is dedicated to eradicating hunger in Evanston. They use existing food from campus dining facilities to prepare delicious and nutritious meals for local community organizations such as shelters, senior citizen groups and after-school youth programs.

Catholic Charities Bishop Conway Residence

Bishop Conway is designed for seniors on a fixed income who are experiencing some difficulties living along but are not in need of a full service nursing home. Most residents have special needs and volunteers should be comfortable in that environment.

Catholic Charities Celebration of Giving

The Celebration of Giving is a month-long effort to collect gifts for many of the children and families served by Catholic Charities. The goal is to bring the spirit of the holidays to agency clients who struggle with desperate and crisis situations by creating a memorable holiday season for the nearly 10,000 children served through the Toy Shower and the 500 families assisted through Sponsor-a-Family.

Christmas Cheer

Christmas Cheer is a volunteer foundation whose purpose is to distribute food, gifts, and other items and to offer cheer to the homebound and hungry of the metropolitan area on Christmas Day and throughout the year.

Good News Community Kitchen

GNCK serves Rogers Park and the surrounding communities. It is the only organization in the neighborhood that serves dinner 365 days a year. It provides a sense of community and a safety net for its patrons who are struggling with poverty, homelessness, and isolation.

Greater Chicago Food Depository

As Cook County's food bank, the Greater Chicago Food Depository obtains more than 43 million pounds of donated food each year. Approximately 50% of this food must be inspected or sorted and then packaged before it can be safely distributed to 600 member soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters.

Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly H.O. M. E.
