2008 Trades, Industries & Professions Dinners
Over 4,500 people attended the 2008 Trades, Industries & Professions (TIP) events in May and June. Five dinners, representing 13 Trade Divisions, were held, featuring Steve Forbes, Chairman and CEO of Forbes, Inc., Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, co-authors of the bestseller Freakanomics, Shalem Center Senior Fellow Michael Oren, and Emmy Award winning journalist Bob Costas. Over $2.2 million was raised for the JUF Annual Campaign.

This year’s dinner was held at the Larry and Lillian Goodman Conference Center at the JUF Headquarters. Over $110,000 was raised for the 2008 JUF Annual Campaign.
Steve Forbes, Chairman and CEO of Forbes, Inc., pictured third from right, was the featured speaker at the May 14 Dinner for the High Tech, Marketing & Media, Real Estate & Building Trades and Wholesalers, Retailers & Manufacturers Divisions. Over 1,300 attended raising in excess of $687,000 for the 2008 JUF Annual Campaign.

Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, co-authors of the bestseller Freakanomics spoke to 1,000 members of the Financial Services and Non Profit Divisions at the May 21 Dinner, raising over $436,000 for the 2008 JUF Annual Campaign. Members of the Physicians & Surgeons, Dental, Professional Health and Educators Divisions came together on May 28, 2008 to hear from bestselling author Michael Oren. Over $276,000 was raised for the 2008 JUF Annual Campaign.
